Jordan: juni 2021

It was June 2021 I flew to Jordan and it was almost eerie at the airport at Arlanda, I have never seen such a sight before - an empty airport with only a few people.

I flew via Vienna and there were more people but it is a bigger and hub airport of course. When I landed in Amman there it was almost like at Arlanda, not so many people there either.

Everything gone well there, I had all I needed, I mean vaccination certificate, PCR test etc. so it took not so long time until I was leaving from there.

I rented the car from Avis, small one Kia but it was nice, spacious and good car, and drove right to Madaba where I would stay over night at hotel where I was twice before. I was the only one guest and owner was happy to get one client again. He told it was empty of course, not so many clients yet. Therefore he not had possibility to make a dinner for me so I was going out but at finish I bought only some grilled chicken with pommes frittes and took it to the hotel where I got salad and ate there while talking with owner about corona mostly, of course.

By the way, hotel was Queen Ayola Hotel in the center, nice small hotel.

But next morning I was leaving and driving via Monte Nebo to Jordan Valley road and along Dead Sea towards Aqaba but before coming to the town I turned on Desert Highway and continued to Wadi Rum village where I have friends and where I would stay about 2 weeks.

Did a short coffee stop by Dead Seaand then continued to Wadi Rum.

where I arrived around 17.00 afternoon. I started at Madaba 11.00 - 12.00 with stop for to buy coffee and other stop to drink the coffee at Dead Sea.

I like this road Jordan Valley, it is calm, not trafficked much, good paved and along the road is nice deserted landscape the whole way.

I Wadi Rum I did countless tours trough the desert which I like very much and all time I am there I find some other interesting places and even activity. One day I saw Bedouin moving theirs camel from one to other place, they were going by the car LOL because distance was far and it would take much time so it was goinf faster by the car. Even I felt sorry about camels sitting tight on the pick up and not had that so nice. How happy they were then to could leave the car and stay on legs again. One camel began be sick and vomited, poor he. But soon he felt good again and began to go and jump of happiness to be free again.

One other day I was going far behind Dissa towards Saudi Arabia border and looking at the land where you could find a little of wild animals and birds. But I was no so lucky and not so many of them, only a couple of deer or what it was for animals.
